The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Design Contest WIN 4000 POINTS, 20$ AND MORE!I've wanted to hold a design contest for a long time now, and finally I've gathered enough points to do it

What I'm looking for:
Everything! Wolves, foxes, fennec foxes, ferrets, servals, bobcats, tigers, other big cats, small cats, deers, dragons, gryphons, dogs, birds, hybrids, original species.. bring it!
I'm leaving the details to your imagination, but here are some things I really like:
-White base color with black and red markings<33 (mostly on canines)
-Cute and fluffy things! No need to go all big eyes and oversized heads, but animals with fur. Creepy and slimy things just aren't my thing.. Still don't be afraid to make something dark/evil
-Anything tribal
-Native american stuff
-Feathers!
-Tawny, golden, brown, white, red, blue, cyan, gray, black (well, not all combined)
-I like more natural base colors, but with smaller markings in unnatural colors like blue or red
-Long tails, big/long

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Here's other boring journal from me. I suppose it's time for me to update what's going on in my life (like anybody wants to know... but just in case mkay?

). Everything has been uh insane and unexpected. I'll explain what happened.

Spring semseter has begun for me and I'm currently taking five classes which are: Tai Chi (oh yeah, you probably think it is stupid or that it'd be taught by an airhead teacher who knows nothing, BUT it is actually better than I thought! I'm planning on taking this class out of school! Yes, it is *THAT* cool!), Intro. to Biology Anatomy and Physicology (however you spell that), Physical Geography, Mind, Machine and Consciousness (it is an online class... very interesting!), and Non-major Art. This semseter is my very last one for general education requirement. If I pass them all, then I will get a letter of completion (it means that I'd be FINISHED with general education stuff for good and focus on major completely!

). When I'm done, I will be going to university-- I don't know which yet-- and major in something with computer and/or art. So, please support me... help me to pass those ugly, boring general education classes. Haha...

Somebody also happened to refer me to a gaming company called Retina Software for freelancer job there as a modeller and texturer. Guess what, I'm working with them right now... I will receive my first pay check from them soon

and mmm yeah I'm still working with a new project so I'll get more $$$ later... oh cashes smell so good already...

Also, I don't know what happened to be honest... but mmm I really never thought I would get hired because I'm deaf and that nobody wants to hire somebody that has no work experience and has communication problem (wouldn't you agree?). Everything has been very blurry for me... it happened so fast! I applied for USPS as Data Conversion Operator and took some tests... I finally passed those 2 tests and ... when I went to an interview... they just made sure my application was ok and everything. The next thing I knew was that they instantly told me that I'm hired.

They were impressed because in USPS all over... there hasn't been a single deaf person that passed 2 tests like I did for 2 years! They were VERY impressed... so yeah I have 2 JOBS!!!!!!!! Whoa!!!!!! I'm supposed to train 2 weeks ago, but because my medical stuff wouldn't be cleared yet, it has been delayed to this Saturday when I'll start training. I just CAN'T believe what happened. Hell, I'm still denying it... haha!

Anyways, that's pretty much what's going on in my life... oh yeah... I have a old deaf friend that started to really like me... he has been taking me out on date lately, but omg... he is so annoying.. all guys are! They just can't leave a girl alone... girl needs to be alone sometimes you know... but they have to bug them 24/7. *sighs* That's why I'm not going to have a boyfriend or be married forever... they irritate me too much!

Anyways, I better stop rambling and do my homework... take care everybody
